Jaw dropping.

Post by Bundyrumandcoke » Sun Oct 19, 2014 10:16 am

Saw this yesterday at the Bundy Rum Distillery. Now some people complain about a little tool box on the rear bumper upsetting the balance of a van. Admittedly this isn't on the back of a towed van, but really?

Empty, that would be a problem as it seems to have a steel frame with aluminum cladding.
I wonder what the insurance company and the "Mr Plod" would say about that lot.

Is that distortion below the water heater?

There are angular supports from the rear down to the chassis. Not known what goes from the top to the roof of the van, presumably it goes to the roof rack. Victorian rego. This van was parked behind the entertainment stage at the release, in a cordoned off area, so presumably it belonged to one of the entertainers. Unknown what is it there, but the potential is bad. Even if its stage speakers, instruments, ect, hanging that far out the back has to have some effect on the steering.

Can anyone make a calculated guess at the rear overhang?

I would hazard a guess that the dimensions of the box are 2400 high, 2400 wide, and 1200 deep. Made using full sheets of aluminium checkerplate.

I assume that this is the wife's walk in wardrobe. Reminds me of overseas trips I have made where some people take several suitcases full of clothes and never wear them. What the hell would you put in this massive thing?

Rear overhang should be less than 60% of wheelbase.
