They are not that heavy considering many have air cons on the roof but yes do sometimes have special bracing.

My son builds caravans every day and they all have steel bracing frames that are made specifically for air cons.

They have 2 parallel rails that reach right across the full width of the van and have a square hole section in the centre. I have one sitting in my shed

Edit: Hmmm... having another read and now I'm not sure if you mean an air con or a dish sometimes has special bracing. If there was a post delete function I would use it

No you are right I was referring to the air con but was not aware that all vans had special bracing to support the air con although I guess they should.
