4 burner gas cooktop requirements
We have a house bus and will be registering it in Western Australian but trying to find out the requirements for a 4 burner gas cooktop ie heat sheld, does it need to surround the cooktop or is a splash back okay. We will be getting a fibreglass box for the gas bottle as it will be placed under the bench so will yhis need some sort of gas shut off switch? Any insight into this would be much appreciated. Thanks

Hi there,
Welcome to the Forum.
If I were in your situation, I'd "Start From The Start" & ask "The Regulators" in W A.
You could also check the ADR Requirements.
You can Email this address for ADR Information:-
'[email protected]'
A gas bottle under a bench may not be acceptable, due to the lack of ventilation to the outside of the vehicle.
Tar Trekka.

Your gas bottle must be external (ie sealed from the interior) rontoheaslip.

Re: 4 burner gas cooktop requirements
Your gas bottles will have to be in a compartment sealed from the inside of the van. The gas shut-off "switch" is the tap on the cylinder. Your gas installation will have to be done by a licensed gas fitter. Here is a guide to what needs to be done - Guide to gas installations in Caravans & Motorhomes - it is not a guide for you to do the work, it's just so you can check it has been done properly.rontoheaslip wrote: We will be getting a fibreglass box for the gas bottle as it will be placed under the bench so will yhis need some sort of gas shut off switch?
