Website Updates NEW! 28/01

Post by Sarah » Fri Jan 07, 2011 2:14 pm

Here are the latest updates from the website

Rob and Marg returned to keep exploring Darwin. Read what Marg has to say:
“It can be quite a challenge if you’re travelling up around the top end at the end of the popular season; it doesn’t take long for the temperature to rise… and for energy levels to decrease! That being said, there are some beautiful places up here to explore, and most people are keen to have a look at the area around El Questro and Home Valley Station.

We did what a lot of caravanners with 4WDs opt to do: we left the caravan behind at a park and drove down a dirt road to check out some of the spots we really wanted to see: El Questro, Emma Gorge, Zebedee Springs, Bindoola Gorge, and of course, the spots where the Gibb River Road crossed the Pentecost River and we had to use the ford. And… um… we did wimp it out a bit, because it was so hot: we opted to stay in one of the air-conditioned motel-style rooms at Home Valley Station! There were also some great-looking eco-tents on the site, and we plan to try them out next time – after making sure we get there earlier in the season!”
