It would be real good if someone could post a step by step guide on posting photos.

You rang Glannie?

Over the years I have gone through that a few times as it was not simple. What is so wonderful about the upgrade is the ease now of pic posting :D

All you have to do is click on ‘Attachments’, shown in orange at the bottom/left and it will offer you ‘Add files’ so click on that. Now find your pics on your poota. Job done :)

Check your results by using post Preview before hitting the Submit button.

There is a limit on the pics themselves. The file size needs to be no more that 512 kb. That is generous enough.

That’s all you need to post a pic but if you want the pics to display immediately, like Rob’s do, then the pic needs to be no bigger than 900 pixels wide or high. If it is bigger then it still works but you need to click on the pic to see it.

OT,
So easy now; thanks.
All I need now is an easy way of reducing the file size because some of mine go up to 5 Mb.

OT,
What about when posting a photo in a “PM”?

Glannie,

Pics could never be added to a PM in the old forum and it is a pity to see that has not changed with this one

As for pic resizing there are numerous options but for years I have been highly recommending… http://www.irfanview.com/

This is a quite small program and does wonderful work. For resizing click on your pic and when displayed use control R to see resize options.

Here is an attempt at posting a photo.
If it works, I’ll then go back to see how I did it.

Nope; I don’t know what I did so back to “trial and error” until I do.

Glannie,

You are going well :)

If you read my instructions again I said 900 pixels was the max for immediate display. If bigger than that it will have to be clicked on to see it.

Your first pic is 800 wide but your second attempt 1024 wide. Simple to understand eh?
