I believe your answer will be, how long is a piece of string
Different driving styles is but one of the factors to consider as well as the weight of the van and speed adhered yo on the open road 80, 90 or 100 will make big differences

Hi Frank & brenda
Thanks for your reply,
I am well aware of all the factors that influence fuel consumption
I am after what other people who are towing 18-20ft vans with the same vehicle
most 20 ft vans would most likely be in the 2.5 Ton range .
Don't know why you bothered to reply with your lack of useful info.

There vans of that size (euro vans) that weigh less, you don't say what "van" you are towing, there are vans which weigh more
You also don't mention what year your Pajero is, could be an oldie as a fiend has or a brand new one
Someone on another forum says his car, a triton same as mine, is so sluggish on take off that he starts off in 2l and he tows a similar van to mine
While it is a bit slow I find no problem with mine as I don't try to do the speed limit on take off, so I don't plant my foot at the lights, I'm sure his fuel economy is a lot worse than mine
I also met a guy a few year back who had a commodore on LPG 2 years younger than the one we had at the time, towing the same size van as ours at the time,
I was getting 350km out of the LPG he was struggling to get 200
A bit further in the conversation I found out he was doing the same trip as us, we had 4 month to do it in, they had 9 weeks so when I said we sat on 90kph he said "oh I don't have the time for that, we do 110"
So
Can anyone advise the fuel consumption when towing a 20 ft tandem van with Mitsubishi Pajero auto and around town Thanks
Is an open question, I gave you an open answer
If you gave us the weight of your van, what speed you sit on, and if you drive passively or aggressively then someone with similar circumstances could give you the answer you're lookin for
Glad to be of help

Very diplomatic of you Frank,
I think my reply may have been a little more terse had that comment been directed my way.
Cheers AL

Re: Diesel Consumption for 2017 Mitsubishi Pajero
Hi Dusty Pair
Had a 2002 Pajero DID towing a 19.6 ft van weighing 2 28 t
14.8 L/100 kl was my average towing over 6 years sitting on 90 mph most of the time.
Head winds of course took it sometimes up to 18 L/100 kl but I drove to the prevailing conditions.
I must have been lucky as I have heard of averages much higher.
Great towing vehicle
Cheers
Graham

Hi Frank & Brenda,
Thanks for the second reply
Some useful info in there most of which is common knowledge re weights, speeds, wind ,acceleration and driving technique, tyre pressures, time frames, vehicle condition traffic congestion, etc
If you check the topic heading I did specify the 2017 Pajero.
anyhow thanks again
