The Everest is based on the Ford ute so should be able to putt your van as well as the ute does. Should be good for vans up to 2500 - 2700 kg ATM. What are you going to tow with it?

Have now purchased the Everest, but have to rack up a few klms before you tow. Will keep you updated with my thoughts on tow ability. Pretty impressed with fuel usage, approx. 730 klms per tank around town.

If you have driven that far you should be ready to start to hitch up.

G'day Malibu,

At the risk of sounding like our best whingers here..... few things bug me as much as economy claims based on a tank full

I could accurately claim my Prado will do 1,000 kms towing or well over 1,500 kms around town but what does that mean?

Please give me litres per 100 kms or kms per litre but not a rather meaningless kms per tank.

In my 55 years of driving numerous vehicles I've had little or no idea in an economy sense how far I can get on a tank full. I keep accurate records of every fill and therefore know my economy precisely.

Aaaaaah...... I feel much better now :D

I think he is saying that he is pleased with the range it has on a full tank. I can get 1200 km on a full tank or 800 km when towing (I have a 65 l auxiliary tank.)

PD, if you are right then I owe Malibu an apology. However... the term 'fuel usage' told me economy rather than range.

I'm sure Malibu will straighten me out :)

Hi Malibu and others,
Looking forward to an update on your overall satisfaction with the Ford Everest.
I am interested myself but I have not as yet driven one. On paper they look a good unit.

If anyone else out there has had experience, good or bad, I would like your feedback.

Thanks,
