The Best way, or the Shortest/Quickest way?

Fly to Melbourne then take a car would be the best way. Bicycle, truck, or walking is not the best way.
Or you could drive down the Newell Highway, join the Goulbourne Valley Highway, then the Hume Highway, the the Western Ringroad, then the the Geelong Road, etch

This way is good. But it depends on what you want to do and see.

So many different options. It depends what sort of things you like to see, and how long you have to get there, with so many places to stop and tour along the way.
