if you go to Sapphire / Ruby vale area is a good place to start , also try tomahawk creek and try your luck there ,but you need all your own equipment , all good fun ,very cold in the winter and hot in the summer

Is it your first time at it? If so, then go to the Blue Gem caravan park at Sapphire. You can buy a bag of wash, and use their equipment out the side of the office. Guaranteed at least one stone- its a small cut gem in a plastic bag, inside each bag of wash.
