I wasn't happy with awning deflappers that were on the market for poptop vans.
Every type I looked at basically pulled on, or had the tendency to stretch, the edge of the awning when they were connected.
They also didn't really stop the whole awning flapping and billowing in the wind.
So I made my own.

The finished product. No stretching of the awning that occurs with normal deflappers for poptops.
The brackets can flex inwards as the awning billows to ensure no damage or tearing can occur, and then flex back out to level the awning.

Close up of the second set of locking knobs - fitted into the unused holes on each side of the arms of my existing Carefree awning.
Cost was approx. $25 to buy deflappers and $20 for the new locking knobs. The 'arms' were cut from aluminium strips I had already.
I'm surprised that something like this is still not commercially available.
Cheers
Mike
