Magazine? No More…

Post by Hammo » Wed Oct 25, 2017 2:21 pm

After several years of subscribing I have just received my last copy of C&M magazine. Advertisements I understand but every caravan review is an advertisement! Looks like the comments are lifted straight out of the manufacturers leaflet. Everything is just fabulous in every caravan! I don’t know how many times Fred tells us just how well the MuX tows his latest caravan too. I guess Isuzu insist on that as part of the deal but, almost every page? Give us a break. I’ve also lost times of how often the layout drawing just doesn’t match the photos, even the door is shown at the wrong end sometimes. Sorry, I have read my last one.

I was also shocked at how thin the mag has become.

I have also not renewed my subscription for the same reasons, I am sick of the MUX and all the other greatest vehicles Fred has used as well as the current vans, incorrect captions, bad grammar and all the adds, I dont even bother reading any of the caravan reports and really only read the travel articles which are also becoming rather boring.
It must be difficult trying to find new things to write about, even the experts opinions dont tell you anything, mostly just common sense, or they tell you to see an expert, which is where you should go in the first place.
Will stick with the forum though. By the way, I was quite happy with the way the forum was but I am getting used to the new setup, seems fine to me.

Yes I made the same comment when I received the latest issue earlier this week.

I have just been advised that the NRMA magazine Caravan + RV is no longer to be published. Subscribers will get their money back pro-rata. I hope Caravan World keeps going as I’ve just subscribed to that!
