Great for price 33 per night, amenities are not 5 star but clean, large shady sites and easy walk to beach and shops ,good fishing well worth the visit.

Sorry Dubbo...Cant agree with you.
Venus Bay is a beautiful spot with great fishing but IMO. the caravan park leaves a hell of a lot to be desired.!!! Packed in like sardines during busy times - which is half the year...not much shade...no sullage, most vans simply allow their grey water to run onto the ground which consists of hard packed shell grit which walks in everywhere. You have to drill holes to put a peg in- others on the front run theirs straight into the beach bushes..(both must surely contravene Health and environment health regs). second rate amenities and not enough to cater for all during busy times....you can stand a spoon up in the tap water it's that salty - very hard to get a lather up in the showers and not good for the ladies' hair washing..(also will corrode your HWS element in no time). Runs out of Hot water (and normal water) in the showers frequently..frequent power outages and fluctuations causing damage to power inlets etc. Poor TV reception.

With all the above in mind, $33.00 pn is an absolute rip-off.
Bloody shame really cos it is a beautiful spot.

Jock :(

Just left Venus Bay SA this morning and have to say I agree with Jock. Price was $28/night with a stay seven pay six on offer at the moment. Good fishing if you have a boat, not much else!!

Jock, although I fully agree with you re SA, I reckon Dubbo's price and description fits the park in Vic.
