About 10 years ago in Mackay there was on on the eastern side of town in the back blocks (industrial yard) that had a huge range of wrecked caravans and parts/nuts/screws etc, I did hear recently he was still there but can't recall the name of the business, but I think it could be this one;
There was one in Townville around the same time as well who had some wrecked caravans, again can't recall the name.

If it's anything like SA, the dealer/repairers have the monopoly on that, they buy all the wrecked vans then on sell the parts at their premium price. I looked at getting a 2 in 1 door for our old Jayco and one guy here wanted $500.

The Queensland Department of Main Roads is the principal caravan wrecker in Queensland, BNJP.
Unfortunately, the Department doesn't run a central depot for the bits, preferring to leave them scattered about the roadsides.

sounds really silly but you can pick up whole caravans that are damaged at auction places such as pickles for next to nothing.if you have the room to store a wrecked van you could get all the parts you need off them. also try local tow yards they usually end up with caravans in them.if they dont go to auction then they end up on the scrap metal heap
