venetian blinds cleaning
hi everyone, could some one please give me some tips in how to clean and keep clean our venetian blinds in our van,We did have a van with curtains which I could take down and wash, and always thought I would like to have venetians but now they seem to be a chore to clean after each trip. There must be an easier way than doing them one slat at a time, takes the enjoyment out of our trips, any tips would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Re: venetian blinds cleaning
I take mine out. Lay them on a flat surface and wet them using the garden hose. I then clean them with a soft brush and detergent. Rinse them off with the hose again and hang outside them to dry. Sid

You can buy brushes with fingers that do several slats at a time.

Re: venetian blinds cleaning
There are normally two clips on the outside edge. Some are metal and swing out some are plastic and are spring loaded.I call them bastard clips because they are bastards to get out. Good Luck Sid

Ah!. They look lovely, but cleaning is the reason I would never, ever, consider venetians in a van. Lot's more dust in parks and camps than around the average suburban home. Ozjane

Ozjane Yes I concur if I had my way they would be replaced with curtains. But as all as good husbands know happy wife happy life. Sid
