Valiant81,

We had a similar experience up North with our fridge - next to useless on 240v but works well on LPG.
I think it might have something to do with the humidity, especially in Darwin.
So suggest you do the same and as soon as you cross the Tropic of Capricorn run the fridge on gas - much cheaper than changing the fridge for a compressor one.
Also we made a cover ( out of shade cloth) that we put over the outside of the fridge, especially if the sun is beating down on that side of your van - every little bit helps.

Hi valiant81, some good sdvice here already,

These darned fridges all work when the weather is cool don't they.

I know you are in Mildura but folks down this way use this mob that seem to be pretty good. Not saying to come down , but giving them a call may help you resolve an issue.

I always point the finger at bad installation with these things, and as stated by others nothing but R rated should be offered. Especially from a dealer in Mildura. I went fishing up to Lake Mungo :D once and the temp was 36 degrees in a September.

Hi Paul,
'T' rated.
Seems the 'T' is only available in fridges above 100Ltrs. I think.
