terracan capacity
Three Dogs wrote: Jock, what's the tow capacity of your lorry?
G'day 4 dogs
according to the book..2,500kg and 200kg. ball weight if less than 5 passengers....2450kg and 150 kg if more than 5 pax.
I've read on other forumks that if Hyundai's trek and tow pack is fitted the capacities are increased.....prob. need to check with Hyundai if interested.

I normally see about 17l/100km.
Coming back from Busselton (south of Perth) to Perth yesterday into a howling head wind it was 23l/100km.
To make it more interesting, torrential rain fell almost the whole trip and I lost count of the amount of drivers in cars who zoomed past, then dropped in front of me then slowed down.
Cheers.
Mike

I dont travel with the intent of saving fuel, but I dont like to waste it either, some of the figures quoted are hard to believe. On our last trip from home to Broken Hill and then to Adelaide and then return home via the SA Vic and NSW coast we averaged 20lph in our 2005 Petrol Prado towing 18 ft Windsor Dynasty van which has a loaded weight of about 2 tonnes. We are happy with that. Hank.

I went back through our records and worked out our previous tugs economy. It was a 100 series lc non turbo diesel. We did 5580ks and used1268lts fuel, same boat on top. Tried to sit somewhere near 100ks per hour towing a 17 1/2 ft pop top windsor 1987 model so no weight plate but would have to be at least 2000kg. That works out at22.7lts per 100ks. Works out quite a lot worse than my present rig. Rumbo

We just returned from a trip To Dunsborough from Perth and returned a reading of 22lts per 100kms but unfortunately we had our gas system serviced just prior to leaving and it decided not to work so back to the gas shop and will be travelling to Laverton in the goldfields in 3 weeks so will post another after that.( Hopefully should be a vast improvement)
