When doing the hand over just don't the keys in the car like what happened yesterday in Adelaide..:(

Couple were inside the van with salesperson after just finishing hitching up etc. Man jumped in car and started car..Salesman jumped out thinking the car was rolling and the car took off with the elderly couple inside van!
Car, van and couple went down the road for about 5 mins and I think they said he went up a gutter and hit a tree..Driver then took off.. Some damage to the van..Bet the poor couple have a few bruises today as well.. It was on the news last night..

Post Great Service
I recently picked up a new Windsor Genesis from
Windsor Batemans Bay and the staff could not have been more helpful.
This is our first van and they spent as long as we needed to explain the workings.
Very pleased

we purchased a second hand caravan from Jayco in Brisbane and the service could not have been better, they showed us how everything worked, hooked the van up to the car adjusted the WDH, and even went for a ride around the block with me to check the adjustment on the brakes, they followed this up with a call about a week later to make sure everything was OK. we certainly did not expect this level of service considering we were purchasing a 10 year old van - I do agree with a previous comment make notes or maybe video the hand over, we were so excited we did forget a few things however it is all part of the fun

We pick up our first van on 2 July, so thanks for the valuable input from everyone.

I was planning to take the camera along, and do a bottom-to-top going over with it. More for personal record keeping than anything else. The way I see it their time is my time on pick-up day, so they'll just have to suffer me going into all the nooks and crannies. Being first timers I'm sure I'll have a list of questions, or items that will need to be covered several times. Not that I see a problem with this. Our local dealer has been helpful and informative to this point, and don't see them as the type to rush me out of the yard.

I bet if you are looking for another van in the future, that dealer would be at the top of your list.

Absolutely, buying a caravan is a very exciting time for most people, and should be an enjoyable experience. the last thing you want is to start off the relationship with your new van under a cloud before it has even left the dealer.
