Post Gps?
We are looking at buying a GPS.

We don't want to miss the free camps turn off and then try and turn back with a big van.

We only want one to basically assist us in locating the GPS Co-ordinates, for Free Camps. We don't need one with all the whistles and bells.

Cheaper the better ;-)

Anyone who has a real basic model or other cheaper brand and is happy with it for the above, we would love to hear your comments

Thanks....

Google Navman "S" range. weve got the S30 but theres cheaper ones in the "S" that SHOULD do coordinates.

Ive never tried on mine but i assume it will.

We have a Garmin Nuvi 255 it allows GPS co-ordinates to be entered and works well to navigate to free camps, i.e. provided you have the co-ordinates. It is also one of the lesser expensive ones.

Cheers

Garmin Nuvi 255 , A review I just read for this: Just wondering if you have had this problem at all??

If you are navigating in the bewildering maze of a city CBD, then this is the GPS for you. It is easy to read and it knows most of the one-way streets and no right/no left turn limitations, however once you move out of the city it is another story...

In the rural area I tested it in it showed some roads which have not been roads for over 50 years, and insisted that I turn onto them. But once I pass that road it recalculates the route very quickly (It says "Recalculating" and within 2 seconds of it finishing saying that it has new directions for you!)

*Recalculation is quick, but after it has quietly sworn at you for not following it's directions, this may take up to 20 seconds in a worse-case scenario

Sorry Rod the S30 doesn't, I've got one and tried to get the update for it but it wont do the freecamps, though it does have the rest areas.
You'll need to look at the MY50 or above.

Bought the $139 4.3 inch screen Aldi one last time they were on sale. It certainly has co-ordinate input.

Of course they are not available there any more. If you're not in a hurry, maybe you could wait for the next one to come up.
