G'day Flinsay,
For a TPI, the excemptions in NSW are Stamp Duty, GST , and Rego. Remember that in other states the Stamp Duty excemptions
may be different, as each state handles its own stamp duty.
The GST excemption rules requires the veteran to purchase and keep the vehicle for 2 years and/or 40,000k which ever comes first.
Whilst you have the vehicle any essential parts that are purchased for that vehicle are also GST free.
For example: if you purchase new tyres and brakes, the purchase of the tyres and brakes are GST free/excempt, however the labour cost to have them fitted is not.
Fuels, oils and lubricants used in the service and maintanance of the vehicle are not GST excempt. Only the parts have the Excemption.
If you go to the veterans' viewpoint thread in the social chat section and got to post number three(3) you will find the link to all of the DVA fact sheets and links to all the DVA sites and associated links.
It's good to see you using your entitlements, keep it up!!
Cheers,
Peterm.
