Hi Jay&Dee, Kerrie and I are setting up to be able to free camp. We have started the “list” but wonder if you would like to list here (or PM if you prefer) what you think is needed to free camp? If a new thread is more appropriate please let me know folks.

Boroma I saw a microwave one in Big W today which might suit.

Thanks Cathy, can you tell me what it is made of please? It actually looks like Pyrex, but you say it is microwave one so is it a plastic type of dish?

boroma I think it may be plastic and for what I can see its starmaid which is great in microwaves ,I have a few types similar
yes am like you re the silicon even though people say its ok ,there is a temp limit I think

you can get corellle casserole dishes too , nice and light to carry as well

Thanks rainy, that’s a thought as I do have Corelle and I do have a large bowl that I could possibly use.

I will look for the Starmaid dish as well when I am next in a BigW store, it is cheap enough.

Hi Boroma yes its that microwave plastic with a clear lid. There was a smaller one as well, I just happened across it when I was looking for something else. I’m experimenting with the silicon bakeware but can’t say I’m a fan of it.

OK, the deal is done. I have just come from BigW after purchasing the recommended Starmaid dish. It is a little shallower than I normally use but I am sure I will adjust.

Thanks to all who have assisted me with advice, I will definitely let you know how the bread and butter pudding turns out when I do it.

Easy Cathy, just mix as you would normally and put it in the microwave for 3 mins to cook and then let stand for a few mins. Repeat the process until it is cooked through. I always use a loaf pan.

You’ll never bother with the traditional way ever again once you do it this way.
