They way i read it, the post in question did not come across as offensive. It looked to me like a campfire discussion. No need for an apology, IMO.

Terry,

Nothing offensive in your post - you just state that you will stick with what youv'e got then look at Aussie Trucks etc next time.
Exactly what I would say and do.

Jeff.

Thanks for the comments, I was concerned after I posted it that it seemed a bit short. I'm very glad to find it was not taken the wrong way.

Hey Ruffnut,

Don't fret. I didn't take offence at your 'OK, OK' comment.
After all my mirror experiences (and much reflection on the subject - I just had to get in on all those previously posted puns) I fully understand the potential frustrations.

Some of the follow-up posts were also very informative, almost got into the birds and the bees territory.

Cheers

Riddo

One thing I've found on many different forums: it's sometimes difficult in a written format to truly express the nuances of everyday speech. What is said in light hearted banter may read differently to some people.

One thing is for certain, you cannot give offense, offense must be taken by the other party. Most times where one person has taken offense to a post, they have misunderstood the posters intention.

The exception to this rule is the professional troll (someone deliberately looking to start an argument) who delights in stirring trouble. I'm yet to see that in these forums. The members here seem to be a lot more reasonable than in the football forums.:)

Cheers,
Craig;)

Thank you Bill, very nice of you say that, did you read the post in "mirrors" I was referring to?
I thought at the time I may have offended, but luckily, all was ok in the end.

Regards, Terry
