Post Toyota's use oil?
Being a member of the Toyota forum "Lcool" I posted this for a bit of fun and thought some may be interested.

I have some pics from 1933, and in those days it seems engines took a fair bit of oil.
From some of the complaints I reckon it could be utilised today as well.

In fact I have gone further and actually shown that it could be made a permanent fixture. And it looks ok!

I've heard that Jags and Rollers have a part number for oil leaks, perhaps 200's need one as well.

Klugers don't use oil... but guzzle the petrol with a van in tow.

Yes a big black mark against Toyota, wonder if the newest 200 Series is using oil or have Toyota fixed the problem on the newest 200’s.

I have just completed a 25,000K trip towing my 2.6tonne van and my 100 Series never dropped of full on the dip stick. One oil change and not a drop add between so what the hell did they do wrong with the 200 Series?

Also heard that the first batch of the 200 Series ended up with the 100 Series tail shafts which were a ½” shorter and created a clunk noise when taking off. For a while Toyota was saying you must use the right grease until the penny dropped.

Dunno whats wrong with your Toyotas, mine does not use very much between changes ar all. Remember, some oil use is essential, and aspecially if the engine is under load (like towing) for long periods.

As for Nissans, I'm not going to get into a debate or a piddling contest about which is the better of the two. The recorded and reported sales figures say it all, as do the mechanics who are being kept afloat replacing transmission and drive train components, not to mention the dramas with their turbo's.

You could not give me a Nissan, they're garbage!
