Only The First 4 - 5 Inches Is Hard

Post by tar trekka » Tue May 03, 2016 4:27 pm

Hi there,

Usually only the first 4 - 5 Inches of the ground is hard, so putting in pegs isn't too difficult.

Use a Cordless Drill & a Masonery Drill first.

A good Lump Hammer, job done.

Tar Trekka.

Any day above the ground is a great day

Really???
I find invariably that all the pegs go in easily till I get to Mr Murphy's aka the last peg where 80mm under the ground there is a disused concrete slab left after some earlier demolition....

I've been using 200mm decking screws and a cordless drill. Soooooo easy to get them in and just as easy to get them out. They grip really well in 90% of the camp sites we've landed in. Only softish sand makes me drag out the old tent pegs.

I use all my old long screwdrivers as pegs.

They go in easy, come out easy and are harder to loose.

I would too except I have two sons and I never seem to have old screwdrivers! :(
