Cleaners for caravan handles

Post by blackmo » Mon Apr 18, 2016 3:20 pm

Has somebody come up with a good cleaner which would restore & clean the 4 white handles on caravans?

If they are oxidised and looking really tatty then maybe replacement.
If they are just dirty then spray and wipe or even Domestos would clean them….

I intend looking for some chrome plated/stainless steel ones to suit but of course they are only there for aesthetic reasons, otherwise what are they used for?

I sometimes use mine to help steer the van when I’m using the movers. But yes I don’t see the point of them.

Mine are rubberized with a tab at each end hiding a screw. I reckon I might remove them and all cleaning problems solved. :)

yes, sounds like a plan. You would need some of these to make a decent finish; http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Home-Furnitu … Sw4HVWCeKA

Soak them in bleach, they’ll come up like new

I took mine off when they became grotty and threw them in the bin. Filled the holes with a little bit of silicone and a stainless steel self tapper.
