Post Attaching Generator Box
Hi Everyone,
Hoping someone out there can give me some good advice and hopefully pictures on how you've attached your generator box to the rear draw bar of your caravan. The box is 600 x 400 x 500 and is to sit next to the spare wheel on the back.
Thanks un advance
Melissa :)

Adding a weight to the rear of your caravan can affect stability. Ours is on the a-frame.

Melissa, you're a Kiwi are you

On our old van I used the the existing bolted on bumper bar brackets, but welded them on for added strength, then added a platform to it, the same size as the box

As you will be adding additional weight to the rear of van ie:- box and gennie, may I suggest that you have additional brace welded to the existing b. bar. The van chassis has a certain strength capacity and any addition strain could be damaging. We had an extra bracket welded. I am guessing like us that you have no other place to store your spare.
My view is that to place on the A frame, would add addition kgs to the ball weight.
We have had no issues with the gennie and a med. size tool box on the rear of the van.
