I have just replaced my Halogen lights in my van with 24 diode LEDs with draw 1/4 the power of my old lights and are a bright white light compared with the yellow glow of the Halogens.
Now most prices in OZ are around $20 per light which would have cost me $120 for my van but I got 10 for $7.99 from China + $3.99 post on ebay.
So for all you strapped for cash nomads these represent excellent value for money.

Ok LED lights work perfectly..We are VERY happy with them. Nice bright white light.. To replace all 12 lightglobes it would have cost me $240 for the LED inserts in OZ....
Also fitted an LED 5 meter adhesive light strip (wired up to the step light so I can turn it on from inside) along the outside and the result is amazing.. Lots brighter than the crappy standard annex light which can only be turned on from the OUTSIDE !! Cost was $12.99 delivered..
Plus if flashes if you want and they come in many colours..
