This is the 18" wheel design for the 3.0l Discovery 4. The original wheel was for Range Rover Sports with Brembo brakes. With a few design changes they now fit the D4. These are a forged alloy wheel.

They have also been designed to use original LR wheel nuts.

The tyre choice has been made..

Continental ContiCrossContact™ AT 255/60R18 112T XL

The wheels are on the boat so hopefully they will be here soon.

Our new van is also being built this month and when I get it, it will have a McHitch fitted.

I have also updated my blog... I have started a section on the Mid Year Trip.

Mowog
Unusual profile name?!?

Be aware your additional various pieces of equipment all add to the final ATM that the vehicle manufacturer has listed for your vehicle.
If your payload was 400kg for example you will have now reduced that by the added weight of the additions.
In recent insurance assessments, insurance companies have rejected claims after the In. coy decided that the said damaged vehicle was in-fact grossly overloaded.

I've been down this path myself (not a claim) but with a highly modified and accessorized vehicle - long range tanks, Kaymar bar, LPG tank, bull bar, cargo barrier, etc,etc.... the final payload for luggage was greatly reduced.
All sounds great and impressive...but?

Mowog comes from my classic Mini and Moke days.

The Discovery has a fairly high load rating anyway. 754kg

The ball weight of the new van and mods so far are well within the load rating. When we travel with the van the only load in the D4 is us. Everything else is in the van.
