Newbie Caravanners need lots of advice
Hi we are brand new to this (forums and caravans) We bought a new Millard Sunseeka (well paying it off, anyway) last year and hopefully we will become grey nomads in the not too distant future. This is my first post so I won't write much to see if I've got it right - then you won't be able to stop me!

Re: Newbie Caravanners need lots of advice
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone - step 2 towards the dream happened on Tuesday when we bought a new (to us) Landcruiser. Its a 2005 V8 GLX wagon - petrol. OK, its going to be a bit "thirsty" but when we do hit the road we are thinking of only driving a few hundred Ks and then staying in one spot for awhile - and then when we have saved up for another tank of petrol - we'll move on Our previous car was a 4.2L Fairmont wagon. It seemed to do OK - we haven't been up any hills though, but we worried it might be a big ask to tow over ranges. I have a few questions - I have a lovely "inside" cat - is it very difficult to travel with a cat? Also what is a basic wardrobe to take - what do you wear that is indispensible and what have you taken that has been a complete waste of space? Thanks

Hi BobandVic, Welcome to the forum and family.
Your planned hurry up n wait method is widely used out here.
I thought i was it untill you find people staying a week with you for the same reasons.
Happy travels to you

Hi bobandvic, welcome to the forum. bobandvic wrote: I have a few questions - I have a lovely "inside" cat - is it very difficult to travel with a cat? Shouldn't be an issue, just be mindful of national park regulations. There are strict guidelines for domestic animals. bobandvic wrote: Also what is a basic wardrobe to take - what do you wear that is indispensible and what have you taken that has been a complete waste of space? Thanks 'Sunday best' is a waste of space. Most clubs/RSL's are happy with neat casual. Australia's interior (even up north) can get mighty cold at night, plan accordingly. If your sticking to the coastal roads, not so much an issue.
