Congratulations on your new tug. The LC150 D4D is a nice drive. One of the little issues to consider, is the fitment of UHF. The 150 has no space or 'hole' in the panel to fit a 'black box' The two units of choice are Icom IC440 and GME TX3340. These units have a mike/speaker/controller hand piece and the 'black box' can be mounted under either front seat. Check out the following website: http://www.lakecomm.com.au/uhf.htmlSome good info is available on the Pradopoint Forum http://pradopoint.com/index.php?sid=5090e4db00cba8f0a66e3bc8f16c6ceaWe have just clicked over 1000kms and first tow planned in a couple of weeks. Ours is Super White 2 GXL D4D Auto Cheers, Cheers,

Re New Prado
Hi there,
Our new Prado will be built this month & delivered in March.
White GXL D4-D Auto.
All "the fruit" gets fitted two weeks after delivery, saves a substantial amount of "luxury vehicle tax"
About a month after delivery we shall head off for a few months, can't wait.

TT, I bought mine without tow-bar, bull-bar, weather-shields, etc to minimise LCT. Perfectly legal. Just need to be careful when you separately buy all the loose bits as the Tax man checks records and can link concurrent purchases of cars and spare parts. It may take you a month to realise you need some extra bits.

Re Bullbar
Hi Fish 71, Toyota Bullbar due out Feb 2010, but no date yet. Be wary as to what brake controller is Dealer Fitted. Our last Prado had a Hayman Reese electronic unit fitted by the dealer, it was cheap but it was nothing but trouble. I replaced it with a Tekonsha Prodigy, absolutely brilliant. Put the H R unit back in before I sold the vehicle. http://i684.photobucket.com/albums/vv206/tartrekka/PRADOBULLBAR.jpg

Hey Tar The prodigy 3 is being installed, a perfect unit which I current have in the patrol. At the same time the installer will be fitting the 4 b and s cable for to charge the batterey in the van and the 50 amp anderson plug. The dealer on Saturday said the same to me, so i will wait and see what it looks like before i do the deal with either ARB or Genuine, i do want a winch compatible bar though. Just Ordered the Icom 440 via the net through prestige in Perth, seem to be rather cheap. We are getting itchy feet ready to take it on its first trip We may need a wdh for the trakkie...will wait and see cheers

Just a quick heads up on the LC150 when fitting a bull bar.
Be mindful that the turbo inter-cooler is now fitted to the front of the D4D and not on top.
Therefore placement of driving lights to bull bar needs to be considered for adequate airflow.
No doubt others that are more technically qualified to comment on this issue, will post their thoughts.
Anyone that fits a genuine tow-bar and uses a HR WDH will have to bevel the edges, so it will fit the genuine bar receiver. The LC150 bar is a new design and looks more like a HR bar than the LC120 bar........albeit it hangs a bit lower. No more cast receiver.
Cheers,
