New Tug Y62

Post by Cyclone » Sat May 27, 2017 12:32 pm

Finnaly got a chance to put up a few pics of the new tug. Y62 Patrol TI. Had it for two weeks now but haven't had a good chance to drive it any distance yet. Havent don enough kilometres to check feel consumption as am still on the first tank.

The photos show the Red Arc brake controller. All you see is the control knob on the drivers right. The UHF is under the console just the cable sticking out of the small gap at the front of the console. The antenna is glass mounted on the windscreen. Second anderson plug in the boot under the cover.

Not looking at doing much more to it.

That will be the dual zone AC. Front/rear. My new Y61 has similar.

The Patrol has come a long way since the G60 back in '69.

Some interesting history here ....

The newer models look almost too nice to take on the dirt

Very nice Cyclone,
I also used the Redarc brake controller hope it works as well as the P3. I will miss the display with all the info but the Redarc is just so tidy.

Hi JR. Yes I liked the P3. Unfortunately there are not a lot of places you can install the P3 in the modern tugs. The Redarc looks good on paper. Yet to see how it performs.

I also have the Redarc and I can assure you that after doing 3 months in Tasmania over the last Xmas period, I never had any brake problems. Some may remember that I had an electrical bug concerning the ABS and ASC warning lights illuminating, meaning the ABS was not operational, but that didn't deter the Redarc taking over. Only those who have driven Tasmania's roads would appreciate that one needs good braking down there.
The dealership in Brisbane can't find out what is causing my problem so I am getting an auto electrician to "fix"the problem. If he is successful I will bill Isuzu Australia; one can only try anyway.
