When I did this a while back it was with great trepidation I started unscrewing the dinette so I could rebuild the set up with reclining chairs...
It all worked out very well in the end see here: http://abb.activeboard.com/t58006658/re ... the-jayco/
Any one else replaced their dinette with lounge chairs?

The layout on our van looks identical to yours TCT and I am also interested in the conversion, any idea of the costs involved, I think I would be reluctant to try and do it myself though. Yours looks great.

Re: Any one else replaced their dinette with lounge chairs?
About the only costs are the replacement chairs and a bit of edge trim. I did boost the strength of the Fold down table as it had piano hinge with 12mm screws into endgrain and used sold brass hinges there, some pics of that below.
All the material used to box in the wheel arch came from the original dinette. One of the drawers under the dinette was relocated to under the port side bed...
To cover the hole in the floor where the power lead came through I cut a section of Vynl out from under a drawer.
The screw holes in the floor can be "melded" back into the original using a hot hair drier to warm the Vynl then tap the "pimple" cases by the screw with a small ball pein hammer and it all closes over and only guilty knowledge lets you know there are holes there....
I've helped a couple of local mates do their own, one had a smaller van than mine and used "office" style chairs but they are eally very comfortable. My Chairs came from "Fantasic" furniture about $700 the pair but you can spend around $2k per chair....
