Our new Pad

Post by aussieboone » Tue Jul 28, 2015 7:20 pm

My wife and I pick up our brand new fun pad next Monday. We can't wait to hit the road but first a couple of short trips to sort out an issues. Our first trip is planned for this time next year travelling from Central Coast on a food and wine tour to Victoria and South Australia. Has anybody got any ideas which is the best way to go (Victoria via the Grampians first or South Australia via broken Hill first)

Our last van was a Corrimal pop top but was a little small for what we want to do, this time we purchased a Concept Newlands 628z Limited Edition 19.6 with all the bells and whistle for free camping.

Go via Victoria up the coast then into South Australia, because if you come to SA first you wont appreciate what Victoria has to offer

Here in Sa we have 5 major wine regions, each having it's own characteristics, so don't make it a short trip

Oh BTW welcome to the forum

We are Coasties and just back from Clare Valley for the third time. Great wines...great place. Don't miss Seven Hill.

Go through Victoria via the coast and make sure to get to Coonawarra and Milawa.... particularly Brown Bros. Some of the best wineries in Australia. The Barossa is very pretty but somewhat over comercialised.

Have a great trip.

That's why when you get to Adelaide you should visit McLaren Vale area, more wineries and less commercialised plus we have the best beach in Australia at Aldinga

Buy a bottle of red from Aldinga Bay Winery, some food from Home Grain Bakery in Aldinga and enjoy them on Aldinga Beach all within 5 minutes of each other, and if you let me know you're coming, i'll make you afternoon tea/coffee

Thanks frank and Brenda
We will look you up when we get to Aldinga Beach. Hopefully traveling down September. Thought we would travel down from broken hill but you have given a great idea to travel through Victoria first.
Getting excited about our first trip in our newlands.
Cheers

Our first big trip

Looking to travel to Victoria and South Australia late August to Mid September, we have booked into the barossa for 5 days. Does anyone have any suggestions of where to stay in Ballarat, Dunkeld, Mt Gambier, Victor Harbour and anywhere along the Murray River returning to Sydney.
