Hey Admin !!! Has time permitted yet?

Post by jock » Wed Jan 31, 2018 4:11 pm

Some time ago you advised that, when time permits, you were going to publish instructions on how to post photos, avatars etc. on the Forum.

Just wondering if time has permitted yet ?????

Hi Jock and thank you for your enquiry. Unfortunately time has not permitted for those whose help I sought regarding image files. The technique used is different for the updated forum. Please don't despair as I am persisting.

Cheers

I have had no trouble for a while as long as it's not too big, sometimes i have to resize the photo i also transfer the photo to my documents or photos, make sure it will fit and then pick it up from there.

That is on Windows10.

Discussion relating to images and avatars

Post by nimdA » Thu Jul 19, 2018 11:37 am

I have produced initial guidance on image posting but it needs evaluation by members. Please ask questions or make comments in this thread.

is it possible to add an image to a PM? there doesn't seem to be the attachments tab below the main window. I can see the image button above but i don't know how to use it.
thanks.

The Image button only seems to allow you to post a URL.

Hi and thank you for your enquiry. The phpBB (Bulletin Board) default setting is to disallow the attachment of images to a Private Message. What is enabled is a link facility using the image button next to the chain link button. It inserts this control sequences (img] (/img] and by inserting between them the link to an external source such as photobucket the PM will carry the image. It would look something like this: (img] photobucket link (/img]

Note that I had to replace [ with ( to make the control sequence visible.

Cheers
