Cessation of Magazine Subscriptions

Post by nimdA » Fri Nov 30, 2018 1:53 pm

Hi Members. Following some individual member queries about magazine subscriptions I asked management for a formal statement and it follows:

Dear Valued CandM Readers,

Unfortunately we are unable to provide subscriptions with any of our titles, as it is no longer cost effective to offer these at a reduced rate.

Caravan and Motorhome on Tour will still be available at retail outlets such as Newsagents and Supermarkets so our valued readers will still be able to keep up to date with the latest news and all of Fred’s adventures.

Kind Regards

The EMG Management

WOW!!!!!

Thinks must be tough in the C&M magazine world.
Or are they under mounting pressure from the retail outlets to drop the subscriptions??

Any way it does not affect me as I have not been subscribing for a few years now,but I still enjoy the C&M on the internet site and forum.

I buy a copy, praps every second month and always get it from my local newsagent.
In a way I’m pleased to read this announcement.
I do understand that some may be peeved at the decision but cost are increasing in all areas of doing business, including the local newsagency.
The mag’s not a bad read once you filter out all the ads, but they are necessary to keep a business rolling along.

I’ll keep buying the mag from my local bloke ;-)

At $4 per issue when I subscribed it was fair value, but there is no way in the world I would pay $10 for a C&M magazine

Magazine size has more than halved in past year or two and it has the same topics rehashed ad nauseum.

G’day Gerry,

Interesting point. I get mag hand-me-downs from my son but I guess that may end when his subs run out

How do you get the digital subs? I assume there must be a dedicated website? Can one manage hand-me-down digital copies?

Thinking about your question…. if they are dropping hard copy subs only because of costs then that should not apply to the digital version. A test could be can you begin a new subscription there now? That should be a good indicator. So may I have a site link please for a squiz?

Thanks Gerry, handy to know :D

I began a subscription process and no indication that I couldn’t proceed… but I didn’t get to the Shekel parting stage.

So it seems to be OK but best wait for formal advice to be sure.
