My brother is looking a trip to Central/west NSW, June-July, and has asked about general conditions.
He'll be driving a Colorado and towing a 18' Coromal dual axle.
Anything he should be aware of or concerned about ?
I reckon he'll be fine providing he drives to conditions, He's well experienced with towing.
Road closures likely to be an issue at that time of the year ?

Re: Central/West NSW June - July ?
It rained in July last year Lance, and the year before, closing most unsealed roads. Will it rain this year? That is a big unknown. I am thinking of being in much the same area, but it may be a bad time of year for road closures from rain and cold weather. However it is the only time we will be able to get away to fit in with the farm workload.

theres 2 mobile ph apps . one is "floods near me,NSW" its live n delivers instant warnings directly to your ph.
second is similar" Fires near me" does the same as above.both free at app store
you give them permission obviously then they track your phone n issue emergency live alerts...
BUT,you need mobile signal ..
HTH.. Rod
i often get flood warning for my suburb from the NSW app, im in QLD ipswich.. never had floods tho but heavy rain
we're heading through outback NSW around then to pt augusta be interrested in what i read here too..

Hi Lance, is your brother still thinking about touring in Western New South Wales this winter? So far so good I think, but who knows what the weather will bring.

Not sure on that.
He was talking about taking the van, but I suggested he take our Teardrop since there was only gonna be him.
Easier to handle and no real need for all the gunk that comes with a 16'(?) van.
I'll be seeing him over the weekend so I'll get an update.
