Post The Coffee Pot of the Pichi Richi Railway (Flinders Ranges)
This is worth looking at. Especially if you are into steam engines. And what a great way to see some of the Flinders Ranges.

Yeah! great post Cyclone....Quorn is a fantastic little place with a really wonderful little caravan park. Great base to tour around with magnificent gorges nearby, Pichi Richi Railway, Camel safaris and lots more. A word of caution if you're thinking of going there to experience the steam trains...They may not run them during the fire ban season which can go right thru from November to April.... Check first. Maybe another member can confirm.

Jock :)

The Coffee Pot is unique and should be back running again after extensive rebuilding of the boiler.
Its worth the extra $$ to have a ride on this venerable antique. Believe me anything powered by steam these days takes more than Clive Palmers earnings to keep running...

Last time we were in Quorn I got a cuddle with Lisa McCune, I didnt know she was a closet railway lover other wise known as a "gricer" = one who waits patiently in all weathers to photograph steam trains...

email from Julian Sharp Hon Sec;
Dear Trev

Sorry for the very late response – just going through emails and suddenly realised I had not responded to this. The Coffee Pot will be on show and running short trips over the Heritage Weekend 23 to 25 April and then on 12 June and 2 October

Regards

Julian
