Post Murray River Beaches
Hi All,

I am hoping some may be able to help me out. We are currently travelling along the Murray River and are in search of some more Murray River beaches. There are some great ones near Tocumwal area but have not bee very successful any further down the river. Is anyone able to let me know where there are some great camps along side the murray river where there may be some more sandy beaches near Robinvale, Mildura, Wentworth etc... I have heard of a good camp at the convergence of the Murray and Darling River so will try and find that location. If anyone could help, that would be great.
Thanks
Paul

Hi guys, good to see you back on the road and following our great Murray River. Can't help you with places over that way, I'm sure you will find what your looking for between the places you mentioned.
We always camp along the Murray at a place called Moorook, nice little spot but not much of a beach.
Enjoy your trip.

Hi Peter,
Thanks for your reply and i hope you are well!!!!
We have been travelling now for a couple of weeks for this trip. Our last trip we went to Camerons Corner - great time to be had!!!
Thank you for your tip on where to stay. Yes the Miiighty Murray is one fantastic river. As so many would already know this and have seen it, this river changes so much in just 100kms or so - the colour, the speed, the width etc... This is a great part of our country and am glad to be able to see it.
Have you been doing much travelling?
Paul

Last year we went up through the middle as far as Katherine across to Broome and everything in between. Spent a couple of nights at Cape Leveque and done the overnight at the Horizontal Falls. Then slowly worked our way down the west coast to the bottom across to Esperance and across to home via the Nullarbor. Took us nearly 4 months.

Hi Paul

The Murray Darling confluence is at Wenworth with no sandy beaches in site. There is a lovely caravan park at Wentworth, with willow trees lining the river.

The Apex River Beach Holiday Park at Mildura is a four kilometres west of the town and has a sandy beach (no doubt river level dependent).

Hi Peter,
Sounds like a great trip. Cant wait to get to W.A.!!!
Motherhen, thanks for that. Will keep a look out for them.
We are fully self contained without needing to top up for over a week so any good free/bush camps would be great.

Hi Motherhen,
You are spot on with the river beach at Apex beach there. Great spot for a quick swim to cool off!!! We also stayed at the caravan park there and it was great. A lot of the locals do go for a swim there and water skiing but they soon go home and it is quite afterwards. The park managers were fantastic! Good grassed sites and they werent too small.
