I realise that there is a difference between the D-Max you had to go around Australia and mine which I purchased late last month, but could you tell me what towing mirrors you used?

G'day Glanyard,
We used Ora mirrors during that trip. Not sure of the model detail, put they had the large magnetic pad that attached to the door panel, with an extension arm secured onto the mirror.
Hope that helps.
Cheers

Rob,
Thanks for the info.
My imitation Aussie Truck mirrors fitted the 2004 Hilux OK but the window rubbers on this D-Max of ours is different. There aren't too many alternatives available so the ORA was to be investigated next.
Were they steady enough/not too much vibration?

G'day again,
They were ok, They have a small lanyard that when tightened helps with stability . I think with most of these style of mirrors you'll always get a degree of vibration. I believe Ora has a new style of mirror now, so it could be worth a look.
From what I've read and observed, if you can of afford the cost, the clear view mirrors seem to be the pick of the bunch. I can't however put them on my bt50 as my garage door is just a smack to small. Currently I am using the Aussie truck style.
Cheers

You're right about the Clearviews Rob. Put them on the Triton. Magic with and without the van.
As for the garage door, they fold in. .??
As a matter of fact they seem pretty strong, so once you drive in, should be OK. :o
Comments made by me (Tony) are not necessarily those of the Management (Lorraine).

G'day Tony,
I tried it with a friends bt50. Got in ok with mirrors folded in, but then to get out I reckon I needed the mirrors, but they have to be folded in, so basically can't use them to back out.
Other option is to fold them in, then either stick my head out the window to see where I'm going ( but remember to pull my head in when I get to the garage door pillar)
Seems a lot of mucking about... However they are great mirrors so may reconsider after a couple of further trial runs.
Cheers
