Post Flatpack Vans
I have been thinking about this for a while.

There is a few people on the forum, building their own van. So i was thinking if we where able to buy a van in a flat pack, maybe more people would have a go.
The chassis and under carriage could be finished ready to build on, with a choice of suspensions and brakes. Maybe also water tanks.
The rest could be cut out ready to assemble and come with windows, doors, cupboards, screws, glues sealers, everything you need to build a van. Numbers on each part and instructions.
A sandwich type panel maybe the easiest.
The electrics and gas would have to be done by tradesmen.
Who is going to supply the unit, i don't know ( Maybe i should have a talk to IKEA :D ) It could at least be designed here.

What do you think ?

Thank you Motherhen.

So it looks like, if you have an old van, with a good chassis or under frame, but the top is not to good, you could get these people http://vanglass.homestead.com/ to make complete new panels. There maybe others that do the same i don't know. Then put it together your self and you could have a fairly cheep van and you have done a lot of it yourself. You can say: I build this ;-)
Its still a big job,but not as big as building a complete van, think about it before you start. I know its not something i would start at my age, but for a young person, a little bit handy, go ahead.

All you will need is an Allen key to put it together. ;-)
