Post Yuleba Between Mles & Roma
What a great spot Yuleba Lagoon is. Very picturesque, little brown faced wallabys. A few local lads swimming & they have a flying fox set-up and of course a rope swing like at most waterholes everywhere. The deep drop toilet is clean and has sufficient water to flush, that’s often a failure with these. There’s plenty of parking. We reckoned it was great.
Now in Roma.
We wanted power because it so damn hot and we thought air con would be good but didn’t expect to pay $30 per day at Roma showgrounds. The CP is $35.

Hi Tommy G
There was a station stay about 12 klms west of Roma. If still open a lot cheaper with the rates and power was available. Perhaps refer to Camp 7 or 8 book.
There is talk of hundreds of jobs being lost in the region from Chinchilla to Roma and beyond. The Park owners will be a big loser, and serves them right. They catered for the mining industry ahead of the grey nomad folks when the boom was on.
Roma does not really want Grey Nomad. It is not an RV friendly town. Town fathers have their heads in the bore water. It is a shame they do not follow other country towns in greeting us Caravan travellers.
I guess that it is the towns loss.

Tommy did you expect the power to be free? What do people think the going rate should be for a country site in the bush????

Bungeworgoria…. Aboriginal meaning for

"Grey Nomads not welcome in Roma."

Nay!!!! I am just kidding, except for the bit about being not welcome is as stated.

Tommy,
There are three rest areas/free camps at Yuleba. Were you at Judd’s Lagoon; to verify, it is the only one with toilets.
