Post Another spit about Dometic pricing!
One of the little clips that hold the bar across the front of the wire shelf in the fridge has failed so I thought I would buy a new one.
We are taking about a small bit of plastic moulding about 1”x1”x1/2”, $18.48 plus postage. Now in the USA the same bit $5.89 say $6.50 for us, three times cheaper.

Yesterday at Bunnings I purchased two 240V timers for $10 (Xmas light control), much more complex but much more for your money, $18 for a bit of plastic come on Dometic!

I still will buy it here as the mailing cost is about $20 from the USA.

JR, on that theme, after V8's issue with his RM 2350 yesterday I had a look at some fridge prices in the states. A 185 litre 2 door around $1,000 and here ar Caravansplus over $3,000.

I reckon the ACCC will eventually get them, along with a few others, who find themselves in a position with no competition, so therefore charge what they like.

JR, perhaps you could make a mould in silicone then fill it with full strength Araldite to make a new part?

Failing that, when you get your 3D printer you can print your own spare parts :D

3D printer good idea!

I was thinking of grinding the remaining broken bit off and fitting a thin stainless insert screwed to the body by tapping an 8BA thread into the plastic.

I am not that desperate so I will just buy one.

I can understand your getting a fright over that amount of profit JR.

Spare cassette for my Dometic V2500 vac toilet cost $500-00. I was fortunate that Carac let me and a mate have a couple at $350-00 each, as I was a good customer.
