In this DVD

Rob and Marg have made it to the outback! This is their first-ever trip inland and there is so much in store for them. We spend a few days exploring Alice Springs and visiting some really great attractions including the Overland Telegraph Station, Desert Park and National Transport Hall of Fame, and then top it off with a hot-air balloon ride high over the vast red desert.

 

We then head west to explore the MacDonnell Ranges including Simpsons Gap, Standley Chasm and Ormiston Gorge. From here we take a quick detour to historic Hermannsburg and learn all about the first Aboriginal mission in the Northern Territory. Rob and Marg then give us a tour of their caravan, showing off all of its features, appliances, accessories, and layout.

 

We also learn about dual-battery systems from TJM, how to choose the right tread pattern from Cooper Tires, and meet up with the crew from RV Gard to tell us about some of their great RV products to keep your rig in top condition.

 

From Alice Springs, Rob and Marg head further south on their way to the mighty Kings Canyon and Uluru. This trip ends at the Erldunda Roadhouse at the junction of the Stuart and Lasseter Highways, meeting up with a few fellow travellers. You won’t believe who we run into! TJM / Dual Battery Systems

In this issue, Don discusses dual battery management systems. These work by automatically linking the batteries while driving to charge. Once stopped, the batteries are independent of each other so there is no risk of discharging your starting battery as the auxiliary battery is used for power. Rob and Marg use Red Centa Dual Battery Management System.

Cooper Tyres

John Pfeffer talks all about tread patterns for 4WDs. Tread patterns are important for both road and off-road use. Cobb Cooker / Cobb Cooker
