The McAlisters have made it to mid-north Queensland for the third leg of their trip around Australia.

 

Starting in Mackay, the heart of sugar cane country, Rob and Marg take a tour of a working sugar farm and have a go at cutting cane. Rob then gets the Isuzu fitted with a Taipan exhaust system while Marg explores Eungella National Park. Airlie Beach is their next stop to check out the Great Barrier Reef and Rob will try to catch that fish he keeps promising on a fishing charter!

 

From Airlie, they’ll head to the beautiful beaches of Bowen and then on to Townsville to visit Reef HQ and the Billabong Sanctuary. Mission Beach, a fantastic free camp spot, and Paronella Park are also part of this exciting journey before finishing this trip in Cairns.
