The Dometic Follow the Sun campaign has delivered over and above its $100,000
fundraising target for the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF), allowing the Foundation to fund breakthrough breast cancer research to improve diagnosis and treatment.

Across more than 20,000 kilometers in 13 weeks, the three Dometic Follow the Sun Ambassadors and two runners-up hosted over 75 Happy Hours in caravan parks from North Queensland to Victoria, raising more than $50,000 towards the target through engaging local communities that shared their love of mobile living.

NBCF CEO Dr Sarah Hosking said she is delighted with the result, saying the
$100,000 raised by the Dometic Follow the Sun campaign is a significant contribution to breast cancer research and would be sufficient to fund an innovative project for a whole year.

Dr Hosking and Dometic Australia’s Head of Marketing Justine Schuller reiterated
how proud they were of what the Ambassadors had achieved, both for NBCF and in how they showcased the domestic travel lifestyle.

“The enthusiasm and commitment shown by the Ambassadors throughout this entire campaign is astounding, exemplifying the community spirit at the heart of all Australian travellers,” Ms Schuller said.

“Caravanning, camping and motorhomes are growing in popularity, and as the
leading caravan and motorhome accessory manufacturer, Dometic saw a great
opportunity to engage with its audience through partnering with NBCF.”

The Dometic Follow the Sun Ambassadors, including two families from North
Queensland and a couple from Adelaide, are making their way home after a three month expenses paid road trip down the east coast of Australia.

“It’s going to be so hard to come home – we’ve had the time of our lives seeing so
much of Australia over the past three months. How strange it will be to see the same neighbors and the same backyard every day!”, Dometic Follow the Sun Ambassador Kate ‘AdventureMumma’ Richards said.

“As an Ambassador, we were afforded a once in a lifetime experience by engaging with local communities, listening to their stories and sharing some of our favourite destinations.”
