Located in the Manning Valley about 3.5 hours from Sydney is the quiet fishing town of Harrington and the BIG4 Harrington Holiday Park.
The park is in a fantastic location, close to shops and backing onto natural rainforest and a tidal lagoon, with an ocean beach a short stroll away.
The focal point of the park is the impressive resort-style solar heated pool and water playground, which should delight both young and old.
Then comes all the rest: spotless amenities, a large modern and fully equipped camp kitchen, friendly staff, shady RV sites and refurbished, contemporary cabins.
If you have kids or grandkids then this park is perfect, as it is simply brimming with exciting onsite activities and facilities such as mini golf, table tennis, play equipment, a water playground, a giant checkers board, a handball court, plus there is pedal go-kart hire and my favourite, a giant jumping pillow.
I finally got the guts to kick off my shoes and bounce on the pillow when no one was watching, giggling like a child. If you get the opportunity, try the jumping pillow yourself.
During the school holidays the park hosts activities such as kite making, scrap booking, plaster fun, movies and outdoor activities.
If you’re inclined to throw a snag on the barbie then you’ll be pleasantly surprised at the spotless barbeques scattered about the park. If relaxation is what you’re after then unwind in the couches in the guest lounge. There are books to read, a large plasma TV showing a movie at 7pm (seasonal), board games to play or else hire a DVD for free and retire to your quarters.
There is just so much to keep one entertained on site, and I haven’t even started on Harrington’s surrounding attractions, such as fishing, 4WD beaches and scenic drives…
If you’re heading along the Pacific Highway on the Mid North Coast, drop into the town of Harrington and be pleasantly surprised.
