When you're out looking for a new RV, it's easy to see we are spoilt for choice. Manufacturers are constantly releasing new and improved models that facilitate our nomadic adventures. QLD-based Wildwood Caravans, operated by Cedric and Roslyn Cutts, is a great example. Wildwood offers two models to get you out and exploring – the T20 AUS and the model of this profile, the T22 AUS.

The T22 offers RVers some real benefits and some great design ideas, making life that little bit easier on the road. A curved roof, for example, has been designed to withstand even the harshest of elements, and is strong enough for someone to walk on. A slide-out living area is also included as standard, which is a great way to increase internal living space while minimising the physical size of the van when in tow.

The T22 AUS measures up at just over 22ft, making it a great all-round van. It has enough space for the whole family inside, while maintaining a lot of the mobility of smaller vans. Let's take a look at what makes the T22 AUS stand out from the crowd!

At 22ft, the T22 offers RVers one of the most versatile set-ups available. It has the manageability of a smaller van, with much of the space found in larger 23ft or 24ft vans. Dual axles help to keep the ball weight down as low as possible, making the T22 a dream to tow.

When travelling in your caravan, chances are you may come across some situations where you're out of reach for a number of days. When travelling in this fashion, it's important to keep safety in mind. Wildwood has included an emergency exit window in the T22, ensuring you can always get out quickly, easily and safely. These also provide plenty of cross-draught on those hot summer nights.

Electric slide-outs are a great feature of the T22. They allow for plenty of additional room to be created without adding extra bulk to the tow size of the van. Located in the centre of the van's body, they provide additional space in the lounge/kitchen area, where most of the traffic is found in a typical RV scenario.

The bathroom is designed to resemble a typical home bathroom, and has ease of use in mind. Timber finish cabinetry adds warmth, while vinyl flooring makes for easy cleaning. Wildwood has opted for a foot flush toilet to conserve space and power where possible.

The lounge makes use of the additional space available from the slide-out side. Once dinner is done for the night, the space can then convert to a double bed to sleep guests, kids or grandkids. Upholstery is also a feature of the T22, with the lounge area finished more like a luxury recliner than a caravan dining area.

The kitchen is designed to offer maximum flexibility when in use. Roslyn showed us the simplicity of washing up with the movable tap that's in place. This also makes it easy to wash down the bench space, should dinner get a little messy.

The bedroom area is well appointed and continues the timber cabinetry theme right through to the bedside tables. The bed lifts up to reveal a large storage space underneath, great for storing clothes or any bulky goods that you want to keep out of the way when having guests over. From this angle you can also see the television mounted in the cabinetry, and the handy DVD storage provisions. The attention to detail is noticeable throughout the T22, with the designers obviously keeping the end user in mind throughout the entire process.

When setting up your RV for the night, it can be difficult to find completely fl at surfaces, particularly when free-camping. Rocks, uneven ground and sand can all play havoc with the stability of your van. Wildwood has a stabilising system in place, ensuring that is no longer a problem. Controlled entirely by remote control, electronic levelling legs are in place at the corners of the T22 to level your van out, stabilise it, and hold it in one place.

One of the best things about the RV lifestyle is the ability to be able to spend plenty of time in the great outdoors. Wildwood understands this, and has included a number of features such as this external barbeque to facilitate your desire for sunshine. By clipping onto the side of the van, you can cook your lunch or dinner without even having to step inside.
