Natural Fuel Limited has launched the first phase of its biodiesel production operations with the unveiling of its new biodiesel refinery.

Biodiesel is a clean burning, biodegradable and non-toxic alternative fuel with low emission levels.
It is produced from renewable resources such as vegetable oils rather than from fossil fuels, and has the same combustion properties as petroleum diesel.

Officially launched at the Australian Marine Complex in Henderson, Western Australia, Natural Fuel’s 400 tonne refinery module was loaded onto ship for transport to Natural Fuel’s site in Darwin. The plant will produce 147 million litres of biodiesel and 12,960 tonnes of glycerine per annum using virgin vegetable oils as its feedstock.

The premium biodiesel and pharmaceutical-quality glycerine produced by the refinery will be sold to both domestic and export markets.
