Hi all

Post by gaz42 » Thu Sep 07, 2017 3:19 pm

I'm new here and appreciate the opportunity to broaden my view of the caravanning world. My wife Pat and I have been caravaners going on for 18 years, still with our original van - why change when you're happy with what you have.
I look forward to making future contributions to the forum.

Hi Garry,
Welcome to the forum.

The only difference your 18year old van would be to a new one is the colour and decor. If you fit LED lights and a 100” TV its as good as a new one.

Welcome Gaz,

Our bought new van is soon to be 14 years old and I'm still making small improvement mods on it. If we got a new one I'd be 14 years behind in mods

Your comment 'why change when you're happy with what you have' applies to wives as well

Yep same here. van bought in 2003 and still going strong. But i did change over to a rock'n 'roll suspension when a few cracks appeared in the welded brackets.

Truth is I have fitted that much stuff to it I can't be bothered starting again. :)
I now have to note that I cannot accept ownership, truth, quality, or veracity, of articles I may quote off the internet.

WE used to own a 1999 Windsor Dynasty and the build quality of that van leaves the new ones for dead. My current van is good but the quality of the fittings in general is not as robust. Welcome to the forum, I am sure you enjoy your van as much as we all do. Plenty of older vans on here.
