Brisbane, Theodore, Mt. Morgan, Emerald, Brisbane loop

Post by Loz » Sun Apr 15, 2012 1:19 pm

Hi fellow forum members,

I am going to travel the above loop from Brisbane in early May and would appreciate any information re: free camps, good caravan parks, must see places, road conditions, points of interest, etc.

I am towing an onroad poptop with a Pajero and have a 2 week timeframe.

All your assistance/suggestions will be appreciated.

Ta,

Loz

If stopping overnight in the Emerald area, I would recommend Fairbairn Dam Caravan Park, only about 15 km out of Emerald, but a nice park with friendly staff.

Have to agree with Hank, a great park, we only stayed there 2 nights last year but will be back for a longer stay in the future. Regards Neville.

Theodore showground is clean and cheap if you prefer to stay in town $15 a night.
Emerald last week was very bad with sand flies and mossies due to flood, we stayed at High Ground Home stay just before dam $5 a night, water but that is all so you need to be self contained. caravan park at dam looks wonderful but they don't take dogs so it was out for us.
happy travelling
