Roadstar?/Territory

Post by gaffa » Thu Aug 11, 2011 8:20 pm

Hi All,Iam after a little feedback on a couple of caravans we are looking at.The first is a 2008 19ft6in supreme territory and the other is a 2010 21ft roadstar special edition, both for sale at$53000.00,both in perfect condition.I know roadstar were taken over approx 2 years ago,are they up to scratch.Any feed back on these vans would be greatly appricated.

Cheers Paul

Of the two my 'personal' choice would be the Roadstar, but you'll find plenty of forum members singing the praises of the Supreme.
You need ti understand the Roadstar weren't taken over they went bust.
The Roadstar chassis maker (Hi-tec Engineering) purchased the Jigs etc and the trading names (Roadstar & Compass) from the Administrators, and is now building vans under the Roadstar & Compass banners with previous Roadstar employees.
This company has no responsibility to maintain parts etc or honour warranties for vans built by the previous Roadstar company.

We purchased a Roadstar Limited Edition new in 2010, and love it - have not had any problems, but yet to try it out on extended dirt roads. Met a fellow Roadstar owner (he had a 2010 Daintree) in Coober Pedy, and he had come across the Great Central Road from W.A. to Uluru without any problem. I think their strong point is the chassis. Just check the ATM though - we tow with a diesel Prado, and our ATM is right on the Prado towing limit. The Territory may be a bit heavier, and was one of the vans we considered, but couldn't pass up the deal on the Roadstar.

Whichever you choose, enjoy.
